A man, Tyevon Bean Yorkshire Rapist, who perpetrated a horrific sequence of rapes, assaults, and threats against four women has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after a jury unanimously convicted him of 20 offences committed in East Yorkshire and North East Lincolnshire.
Tyevon Bean, 34 years old and homeless, appeared at Hull Crown Court for sentencing on Monday, January 20, following a three-week trial in November of the previous year.
The initial female defendant, Tyevon Bean, was indicted and convicted of controlling or coercive conduct, two counts of rape, two counts of assault resulting in actual bodily harm, non-fatal strangling, and making threats to kill.
He was indicted and convicted of sexual assault by penetration, three charges of non-fatal strangling, and three counts of assault resulting in actual bodily harm against the second woman.
Tyevon Bean was charged with two charges of non-fatal strangulation and assault causing actual bodily harm concerning the third lady, and with rape, non-fatal strangulation, and perverting the course of justice regarding the fourth woman, as he solicited her to retract her statement to the police.
Detective Constable Lisa Grantham from the Protecting Vulnerable People unit stated: “I wish to commend the four women for their bravery in coming forward and express my gratitude for their patience during the protracted investigation as officers pursued extensive lines of inquiry.”
“Tyevon Bean is a violent and predatory individual who made four women endure horrific attacks of a sexual and violent nature. He is a danger to women, and I am pleased to see him taken off our streets.
“Tyevon Bean then forced them to undergo the pain and trauma of a three-week trial when he failed to admit what he had done.
“The result in this case reflects the tenacity and dedication of officers in the Protecting Vulnerable People Unit to keep violent, dangerous offenders like Bean off our streets. I know that whilst the result here today does not take away the pain and suffering caused, I am pleased that Tyevon Bean is where he belongs – locked away in prison for a significant amount of time.
