Tobias Lee - Rothley
Tobias Lee - Rothley

Tobias Lee has received a sentence of 12 years of imprisonment after admitting guilt to five charges of rape and one charge of controlling and coercive behaviour.

The initial victim of the acts, an adult female, was initially reluctant to report the crimes; nevertheless, after confiding in trusted relatives and friends and obtaining assistance, she consented to contact the police.

This resulted in the arrest of Tobias Lee, 32, of Macaulay Road, Rothley, and the initiation of an investigation.

Enquiries included accessing a phone recording which had been made by the victim which showed bullying and controlling behaviour by Lee as well as obtaining statements.

This included statements bravely provided by the victim regarding the rape offences which Lee had committed against her.

The investigation led to Lee being charged and at Leicester Crown Court last Tuesday (25 October), he was sentenced to 12 years and six months imprisonment after pleading guilty to the offences. He was also placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely.

Support continues to be provided to the victim.

Officer in the case, Police Investigating Officer Anita Vaughan said: “Thanks to the bravery of the victim in reporting these horrendous crimes, we were able to ensure she had the right support available while carrying out a full investigation.

“This led to Lee pleading guilty to the offences and being sentenced.
