On March 3, a probe was started after sexual exchanges were discovered on a Snapchat account belonging to a vulnerable adolescent girl between her and a guy subsequently identified as Thomas Weller Horsham Paedophile, aged 33.

The texts were sexual, and the force stated even though the girl told Weller she was a kid.

Sussex Police also noted Thomas Weller’s offer to purchase her drinks in return for sexual actions.

The inquiry also revealed that Thomas Weller had obtained personal data from his position.

According to Sussex Police, he was detained on March 24, and another adolescent girl’s Snapchat account revealed further explicit messages.

Later, Thomas Weller was charged with two counts of sexual communication with a juvenile and misconduct in public office, the force added.

Police claimed he accepted the misbehaviour in public office at Lewes Crown Court on Wednesday, July 31 and entered a guilty plea to two counts of sexual communications at the same court on July 5.

He has been remanded in detention to show up for a September 27 court confirmation of sentence.

Detective Chief Inspector Jon Gillings said: “Thomas Weller exploited his position of trust and responsibility to target helpless children.”

“I would want to thank the youngsters engaged as well as their families for forwarding this to the police and helping this inquiry all through.

“Also, thank our West Sussex County Council colleagues for their assistance and quick response once Weller’s misconduct initially surfaced.

“Sussex Police is looking at whether Weller might have mistreated other victims. Please contact police online or via 101, mentioning serial 297 of 31/07, if you have any information to assist.
