A 24-year-old guy, Ricky Harper, has been incarcerated following an domestic abuse assault on his partner in August of this year.

Ricky Harper, from Galaxy Grove, Brynteg, Wexham, appeared at Mould Crown Court today, Tuesday, December 10th, after confessing to the deliberate strangulation of a woman.

Ricky Harper’s partner attempted to exit an address after a dispute; however, while she was on the phone, he leaped onto her, restraining her and constricting her throat until she experienced difficulty breathing.

The woman repelled him, nevertheless he persisted in his assault, striking her in the face, stomping on her abdomen, and pulling her by the hair, instilling in her a profound fear for her life.

The woman subsequently departed from the location and notified the authorities of the incident. Ricky Harper was apprehended later that day.

He was incarcerated for 21 months.

Sergeant Rhys Gough said: “Violent behaviour towards women is inexcusable and will not be tolerated.

“The victim has shown considerable bravery in coming forward to report what happened to her following a traumatic and terrifying experience. Her bravery throughout this investigation should be commended.

“I would urge anyone to speak up if they are a victim of domestic abuse. You will be listened to, and we will fully investigate any report to bring offenders to justice.”
