Found guilty of past child sexual abuse in Liverpool, Raymond Andrews Liverpool Paedophile has been sentenced to nineteen years in jail. After a jury decided Raymond Andrews, 57, guilty of two counts of rape and six counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a 13 to 15 aged girl, he was jailed at Liverpool Crown Court.
His horrible crimes were carried out in Liverpool between 2014 and 2016.
Raymond Andrews, from Liverpool but residing in Oldham, was also given a restraining order, a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and will have to join the Sex Offender Register for life.
“This two-week trial clearly showed Andrews’ predatory behaviour where he groomed his young victim,” said Detective Sergeant Louise Wood. Fortunately, a jury saw through his falsehoods, and he will now spend much time in prison.
“Although Raymond Andrews denied the offences, his victim’s sheer will and fortitude made this conclusion possible.
“I hope this sentence shows that time is no barrier in reporting offences to Merseyside Police, and we will take every report extremely seriously, regardless of when it happened.”
“Merseyside Police is committed to shielding children from sexual abuse and those who seek to do them harm,” Detective Sergeant Wood said.
For victims of such a horrible crime, the effects are as significant and long-lasting as you could expect.
“Please come forward and let the police know whether you have personally suffered any sexual assault or know of a youngster being mistreated.
“We take all such reports very seriously, and if you can find the confidence to come forward and speak to us, we have specially trained officers who will treat you with sensitivity and compassion.”
