Police investigating a report of a sexual assault have released an image of a man they wish to speak with.

The incident happened in Queen’s Road in Hastings’ town centre at about 2.15pm on February 12, near the Priory Meadow bus stops.

A local woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was approached from behind by a man unknown to her.

The man then sexually assaulted her by touching.

The victim was left shaken by the incident and has received support from specially-trained officers.

Officers investigating have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak with in connection with the investigation.

He was wearing a red and black chequered overshirt over a black hooded top with white straps, a black baseball cap, beige trousers and a white belt.

A force spokesman said: “Witnesses or anyone with information, including anyone who recognises the man and anyone in the area with further footage, is asked to come forward.

“Information can be reported to Sussex Police online or by calling 101 and quoting serial 1170 of 12.02.”
