For numerous non-recent sexual offences in Staffordshire, a man, Peter Leigh Rogerson Tamworth Paedophile, has been imprisoned for 28 years.

Tamworth-based Peter Leigh Rogerson, 58, mistreated the survivors before their courageous disclosure. After the offences were disclosed to us in April 2019, we compiled proof against Rogerson.

Over the next four years, we put Peter Leigh Rogerson before the court and relentlessly supported the survivors.

After a 10-day September 2023 trial, Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court convicted him guilty of a total of 24 sexual crimes. Among these were:

  • Ten counts of rape
  • Two counts of sexual assault
  • Four counts of sexual assault of a child
  • Five counts of indecent assault
  • Two counts of causing to engage in sexual activity without consent
  • One count of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

Peter Leigh Rogerson received a 28-year prison term together with a six-year extended licence period on Friday, April 5.

Peter Leigh Rogerson was also placed on the sex offenders’ register for a lifetime and subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
