Eastbourne Sex Offender Naveed Muhamadi, 18, has been remanded in jail and is scheduled to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court this afternoon to face charges of rape of a woman on Eastbourne beach close to the bandstand.
Also charged with rape concerning the same event, a 17-year-old lad unable to be named for legal reasons was remanded in custody following Monday, August 12 court appearance.
Another 18-year-old man is still in detention after being arrested on allegations of helping and abetting the rape of a woman.
Following the attack, which occurred near the bandstand in the early hours of Friday, August 9, Sussex Police stated specifically trained police had assisted the victim.
In Operation Bagstone, a police spokeswoman said: “Detectives continue to investigate the incident and urge anyone with information to report it online or call 101.”
