A persistent Stokesley Paedophile Mark Anthony Wilson, who preyed on minors over social media and threatened to disseminate indecent photos of them online, has been incarcerated.
Mark Anthony Wilson was sentenced to six years and eight months of imprisonment at Teesside Crown Court yesterday for a series of sexual offences involving youngsters as young as seven.
North Yorkshire Police reported that a 35-year-old individual from Allen Grove in Stokesley exploited social media to target children and adolescents nationwide.
Between 2018 and 2020, he solicited intimate sexual images and videos, threatening to disclose them and harm their families if his demands were not met.
The authorities reported that he uploaded several photographs online, resulting in his victims feeling frightened, embarrassed, and degraded.
In one instance, Mark Anthony Wilson transmitted a video of a naked adolescent male to his mother.
In another instance, he transmitted racially derogatory, abusive, and sexual communications to a 16-year-old girl, threatening to upload recordings on YouTube alleging that her father had raped her.
During the inquiry, investigators discovered that Mark Anthony Wilson had acquired photographs and a video of a seven-year-old’s genitals after exchanging over 200 messages and FaceTime chats with the child.
Mark Anthony Wilson possessed indecent photographs of an eight-year-old girl and exchanged 1,149 texts with her.
He was incarcerated after pleading guilty to 27 offences at York Magistrates Court during three hearings, from August 2021 to February 2022.
Detective Constable Karen Barugh stated that Mark Anthony Wilson perpetrated numerous malevolent and sexual offences against minors, inflicting significant anguish upon them.
She stated that they must have been horrified at the prospect of him executing his threats.
Notwithstanding his detention, he persisted in perpetrating felonies while on bail, with the gravity of his transgressions escalating over time. Mark Anthony Wilson was prolific in targeting youngsters and has exhibited no remorse for his actions.
I extend my gratitude to the youngsters and adolescents who shown the courage to come forward and provide statements to the police. I encourage others to take similar action if they are victims of any form of sexual offence.
