A paedophile, Kevin Uwaifo, who sexually assaulted a schoolgirl and a gran after pretending there was a spider on them has been ordered to do 180 hours of unpaid work.

Kevin Uwaifo assaulted a 15-year-old girl in Glasgow’s southside on May 30, 2024.

The 20-year-old had followed the child after school and stated: “You have a spider on your back.”

Kevin Uwaifo, of Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, ran his hand down her back before he grabbed her.

He was later picked out by the victim’s 12-year-old sister at a police station and was traced.

Two days earlier, Kevin Uwaifo approached a 53-year-old woman with her young grandchildren at Morrison’s supermarket at the Glasgow Fort shopping centre.

Kevin Uwaifo said to her from behind: “There is a spider on your back.”

The woman turned around to see Kevin Uwaifo holding a mobile phone in his hand.

He repeatedly touched her.

The woman moved away from Kevin Uwaifo, who then fled the scene.

She contacted the manager, who informed her that the incident would have been captured on CCTV.

Kevin Uwaifo pled guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to two charges of sexual assault.

Sheriff Anna Reid put Kevin Uwaifo under supervision for two years at Friday’s sentencing.

Kevin Uwaifo is awaiting sentence on two separate matters at Dumbarton Sheriff Court.

One includes Kevin Uwaifo claiming that there was a spider on a woman’s back and that she should lift up her upper clothing to remove the spider on September 23, 2024.

Brian Cooney, defending, told the sentencing that his client displayed “reprehensible actions.”

The lawyer added: “This is behaviour which is completely disgusting and it must have been extremely distressing for the victims involved in this.

“I have explained to him that the court will be concerned about protecting the public and that it will ensure that this conduct does not happen again.”

Kevin Uwaifo was put on the sex offenders register for two years.

We could not find any published pictures of Kevin Uwaifo, even though he has been convicted or any mention of a possible deportation.
