A disabled lady from Glasgow is experiencing terror following the release of a convicted sex offender, Joseph White Glasgow Paedophile, who corresponded with her from prison due to a significant data leak.
Mary McGoldrick got a correspondence from an inmate at Barlinnie prison that contained her name, address, and confidential social work information from Glasgow City Council.
The convict, who signed the letter as “Ms. White,” was identified as trans prisoner Joseph White, now Jo, who received a five-year prison sentence in 2018, according to the Sunday Mail.
White, a resident of East Kilbride, was photographed mistreating a two-year-old girl and employed a concealed camera to surveil ladies in a lavatory.
The 46-year-old, Joseph White, was apprehended when law enforcement connected a ring worn by White to the abhorrent photos.
Mary, 52, and her carer Moira Heafey, 54, who cohabitates with her in Glasgow, are experiencing apprehension following the revelation that White was freed from incarceration in January.
Mary said: “Moira and myself are feeling very anxious now knowing that White has been freed.
“Someone should have told us that White had been released but didn’t. Especially given that he had our details and had reached out to us from prison to let us know he had them.
“It was the council’s fault that White was sent my name and address. We are vulnerable. We are afraid. White could turn up pretending to be someone else.”
Moria added: “We’re now scared to leave the house and want to be relocated to somewhere else. We can’t sleep at night, we are afraid when the door goes.
“This wasn’t our fault. We’ve complained to the council, social work and housing about our very genuine concerns but they won’t listen.”
Paedo Joseph White, was jailed for five years for sexual abuse of girls aged two and 11. The Sunday Mail obtained a series of letters written by the prisoner – who now identifies as female Jo – spanning over four years to confirm White’s identity.
In a letter to Moria and Mary, the prisoner, who signed the letter “MS White”, in May 2023 wrote: “You do not know me but I felt it was the right thing to reach out to you and inform you there has been a severe breach of your data! I am a prisoner at HMP Barlinnie, Glasgow.
“Your information should not be landing in the hands of a prisoner, especially of no relations to yourself. Please feel calmed in the fact it landed in my hands and not those of some of the many unkind others that exist in here.”
Moira and Mary complained to Glasgow City Council, who apologised.
Moira said: “We never knew who the letter really came from and it was terrifying to discover who it was.”
A spokeswoman for Glasgow’s Health and Social Care Partnership said: “Both adults are well-known to us. We are fully aware of their situation and have supported them repeatedly with re-housing applications over the years. Our support continues.”
Last May, we also told how Joseph White, who transitioned after arrest, complained of having no hairdryer in HMP Barlinnie and was moved to HMP Glenochil.
