Sentenced to 28 years, a Bexhill Paedophile, John Armsby, who sexually abused and raped two young girls Between 2017 and 2022 John Armsby, 47, of Ninfield Road in Bexhill, routinely sexually molested two girls under the age of 13.

John Armsby was detained two days following reports of the crimes to Sussex Police on January 24, 2022.

Sussex Police staff and our partners provided professional assistance to his young victims and their families.

Searching John Armsby’s house turned up digital devices with offensive pictures of youngsters.

Subsequently, he was charged with five counts of rape of a kid under thirteen, five counts of sexually abusing a child under thirteen, three counts of possessing indecent photographs of children and one crime of possessing a forbidden image of a child.

On March 26, 2024, Lewes Crown Court convicted him guilty of all charges.

John Armsby was sentenced to 24 years in jail at the same court on 6 June; another four years would be spent on extended licence.

John Armsby also received an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, an indefinite Restrain Order against both victims and instructions to sign the Sex Offers’ Register for lifetime.

Detective Constable Annie McGarvey said: “John Armsby’s crimes are horrible and evil.

“My heart goes out to his small victims and their families for the terrible suffering they have gone through, the consequences of which will be long-lasting.

“I appreciate all of their help and tenacity over this inquiry.

“We would not have been able to place a dangerous offender behind bars where he can pose no more harm to the public without their bravery.”
