Jake Bradley Sherburn Paedophile confessed to grooming a young girl on social media before engaging in sexual relations with her and has been sentenced to four years in prison.
Redcar CID initiated an inquiry following concerns over 27-year-old Jake Bradley from the Sherburn region of Durham.
Authorities uncovered Between June and August 2022, Jake Bradley added the young victim on Snapchat and engaged in daily interactions with her, which subsequently became increasingly sexual in character.
Following the grooming of the young girl, Jake Bradley subsequently met her on several times and made sexual approaches towards the apprehensive victim.
The victim courageously revealed the incident, leading to Jake Bradley’s arrest and subsequent charges of one count of grooming and three counts of sexual contact with a minor.
He confessed to the offences and appeared at Teesside Crown Court on Friday, January 31st, where he received a four-year prison sentence.
A Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) has been enacted, and Jake Bradley will remain on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Romy Pattinson from Redcar CID said: “I hope this sentencing can bring some comfort to the victim, knowing that Jake Bradley is in prison and is unable to harm anyone else.
“I’d like to thank the victim for her bravery and for her support throughout this extremely difficult process. We’re committed to protecting children and vulnerable people and we will do all we can to bring those causing harm to justice.”
