Former Coronation Street actress Imogen Boorman has been placed on the sex offenders register after admitting to a series of offences, including public indecency and theft of alcohol.
Last May, the 52-year-old mother-of-three who portrayed Vanessa Morgan in the hit ITV serial throughout the 1990s was arrested following a drunken altercation at the Picture House pub in Montrose, Scotland, where she lives.
Imogen Boorman, who also starred in Hellbound: Hellraiser II, Casualty and Lovejoy, entered a guilty plea to seven crimes overall and will be sentenced in April.
Imogen Boorman entered the tavern about ten o’clock and stripped nude after merely smiling when asked for her order, the court heard. She ascended the bar, lay down and started sipping straight from the beer taps.
She allegedly seized a man’s hands and placed them on her naked chest while reclining on the bar, sexually attacking him before blasting his face with a draught juice gun. Then Imogen Boorman went to the pub’s dining room, trying to pull down the same man’s trousers sexually.
Four cops were dispatched to a pub where an intoxicated woman was causing a disturbance. Two female police officers sought to assist her in dressing once more. She injured one of the police officers by gripping her arm, which resulted in scratches and redness, according to the court’s hearing of her arrival at the Dundee police station.
Imogen Boorman’s attorney claimed she was ashamed and regretful of her actions. She was, he added, now improving and receiving treatment for a disorder known as complicated PTSD.
The judge declared he would determine on April 2 what to do regarding Imogen Boorman. As that story was being read, he addressed Boorman: “I can see you hung your head. Of course, having to show up and listen to your behaviour back then tortures you. Hearing from your counsel that you have made significant progress in tackling the alcohol problem underpinning these remarkable, strange happenings makes me very happy.
After the Judge sought counsel, he decided to put her on the sex offenders register.
