Paedophile Edward Riley, 56, of Pitway, South Petherton, Somerset, appeared at Worcester Crown Court today (14 March) for sentencing after his conviction in February.
Edward Riley was found guilty of six counts of indecent assault against a girl under the age of 14, two charges of indecent assault against a boy under the age of 14, and two counts of inciting a child under the age of 14 to engage in an act of gross indecency.
The incidents occurred between 1982 and 1986 in Kidderminster.
Edward Riley has been permanently registered as a sex offender.
Detective Constable Sally Sliwinska stated, “This case illustrates the seriousness with which West Mercia Police regard sexual offences, irrespective of when they occurred.” We salute the victims in this case for their courage during the proceedings and hope that today’s outcome provides some measure of justice.
