An Oswestry PAEDOPHILE, Christopher Deakin, has appeared in court charged with indecent exposure and engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a minor.

A 55-year-old man from Oswestry, Christopher Deakin, has been arraigned in court on many charges of sexual offences, including indecent exposure.

Christopher Deakin of Henley Close attended Mould Magistrates Court on Saturday, October 12.

The 55-year-old, Christopher Deakin, was charged with exposure and engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child in connection with an incident in the Hawarden area of Deeside last Wednesday, October 9.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said Christopher Deakin was also charged with a further two counts of exposure, and a further two counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child following incidents reported in Wrexham between May and June this year.

Christopher Deakin was remanded into custody to appear before Mold Crown Court on Friday, November 15.

A 55-year-old man has been sentenced to imprisonment for engaging in a sexual act on himself while driving by children en route to school.

The events occurred in Wrexham and Flintshire in June and October of this year.

Christopher Deakin, residing at Henley Close, Oswestry, pleaded guilty to two charges of engaging in sexual activity in the company of minors and appeared before Mould Crown Court for sentencing today (Monday, December 23).

He was incarcerated for 20 months and is need to register with the police as a sex offender for the subsequent 10 years.

Christopher Deakin received four 10-year restraining orders to safeguard the victims and a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, which includes terms prohibiting loitering near parks, schools, or locations frequented by young girls.

On June 10, two 11-year-old school friends were en route to school along the B5097 between Penycae and Ruabon in Wrexham when they observed Christopher Deakin engaging in a sexual act on himself while gradually driving past in a blue van.

Christopher Deakin was apprehended the subsequent day and released on bail awaiting further investigations.

On October 9, two girls were returning home from school in Hawarden when they observed Deakin engaging in a sexual act on himself while driving passed and gazing at the youngsters.

The subsequent morning, one of the girls reported observing the same van in Hawarden, driving towards a primary school.

Christopher Deakin was apprehended that day and thereafter detained in jail.

Detective Constable Andrew Vaughan, the investigating officer, stated: “Christopher Deakin’s predatory behaviour towards schoolchildren during their commutes to and from school for his own gratification is profoundly troubling.”
