Billy James Woodfine Acomb paedophile from York who manipulated a young girl over three years, convincing her to send him explicit videos of herself, has been sentenced to imprisonment.

Anne Richardson, the prosecutor, stated that the youngster was only ten years old when she was initially contacted by Billy James Woodfine online.

He engaged in extensive communication with her, sending numerous explicit messages of a sexual nature. Despite being alerted by the police about his involvement in downloading child sexual abuse material, they conducted a search of his residence, apprehended him, and subsequently released him on bail on the condition that he refrain from contacting her.

Mrs Richardson stated that a social worker informed the police that the girl from the West Midlands was deeply involved in exploitation by Billy James Woodfine to the extent that she considered sexual abuse to be a usual occurrence.

According to the York Crown Court, he utilised WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok.

Police forensic analysts discovered explicit films of the individual engaging in sexual activities, a text message on his phone containing the statement, “I love engaging in sexual acts with children,” and proof of his engaging in sexually explicit conversations online with a girl in the USA and two other females.

Judge Simon Hickey informed Billy James Woodfine that his explicit messages and interactions with the young girl from the West Midlands, in which he coerced her into providing him with sexually explicit recordings and exchanged explicit photographs with her, constituted the exact kind of behaviour that negatively influences young individuals of her age and vulnerable circumstances.

Billy James Woodfine, currently 22 years old and residing at Danebury Drive, Acomb, admitted guilt to three counts of inducing a child to participate in sexual activity, three counts of possessing indecent images of children discovered on his internet devices during a police search, as well as one count each of engaging in sexual communication with a child and possessing a prohibited image of a child.

He was incarcerated for five years. In addition, he was permanently added to the sex offenders’ registry and placed under a lifelong sexual harm prevention order, which grants the police the authority to monitor his online and social media interactions. This order also prohibits him from contacting the West Midlands girl and other minors, as well as prevents him from working with children or vulnerable adults.

According to Kevin Blount, Billy James Woodfine’s misdeeds started when he left his parents’ house. He experienced a challenging upbringing, characterised by non-sexual abuse, and encountered difficulties in forming and maintaining connections in the real world.

“The solicitor advocate stated that he has primarily established his relationships through social media and online platforms.” “He has demonstrated a tendency to be solitary.”

After being incarcerated, he actively sought assistance in addressing his criminal behaviour.

Mrs. Richardson stated that Billy James Woodfine’s residence was subjected to a police raid on January 12th of the current year. Furthermore, she mentioned that he was interviewed multiple times throughout the Spring. He asserted that he lacked any sexual attraction towards minors.

Billy James Woodfine was released on bail because he would not communicate with the girl from West Midlands. However, her family was monitoring her phone, and on May 17th, they discovered that the two were still communicating.
