Paedophile Adrian Augustyniak has been incarcerated for a series of charges pertaining to sexual communications and obscene imagery involving minors.

Adrian Augustyniak, 25, from York, believed he was communicating with a 12-year-old child and transmitted repugnant words and photographs through an application starting in August 2022.

However, the profile he had been communicating with was not an authentic female. The information was conveyed to North Yorkshire Police, and police proceeded to his residence. Adrian Augustyniak was apprehended, and several electronic gadgets were confiscated.

The devices contained indecent photographs and films of children, some as young as three, together with a booklet referred to as a ‘paedophile guidebook.’

Adrian Augustyniak was indicted for producing indecent images of minors, possessing prohibited child images, attempting to initiate sexual communication with a minor, attempting to induce a minor to engage in sexual activity, attempting to compel a minor to view an image of sexual conduct, disseminating obscene materials, and possessing a paedophile manual.

On 23 September 2024 he pleaded guilty.

At York Crown Court on 6 December 2024, Adrian Augustyniak was sentenced to 48 months’ imprisonment. He will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) indefinitely, and added to the sex offenders register indefinitely.

DC Melanie Gladwell, from North Yorkshire Police, said: “The investigation uncovered damning evidence of Adrian Augustyniak’s disturbing online activities. He had no regard for the welfare of children – his sole concern was his own sexual gratification.

“This case should send a clear message that we will track down anyone involved in downloading indecent images of children, or attempting to engage children in sexual communication online. Such offenders should expect to be brought to justice.”
