A woman has been arrested following a ‘disturbance’ at a cafe where a child is believed to have been assaulted.
Police are asking witnesses to come forward following the incident at Porta 134 in Sale on Saturday (October 19). The ‘disturbance’ occurred between 11am and midday when a woman was in the Northenden Road cafe, the Manchester Evening News understands.
According to an appeal issued by Greater Manchester Police on social media, it is believed that a child was assaulted. The force has confirmed that a woman was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault, possession of a bladed article, and being drunk and disorderly.
In the post on Facebook, GMP Trafford North wrote: “On 19th October 2024 between 11:00hours – 12:00hours a disturbance has taken place at PORTA 134 CAFE, NORTHENDEN ROAD, SALE. During this disturbance it is believed that a child was assaulted.
“We are looking for any witnesses to the incident and for the victim to come forward in relation to this. If anyone has any information they can contact PC 03528 Challenor by email :03528@GMP.POLICE.UK or by calling 101 quoting the incident reference 1362-191024.”
