Stewart Thomson paedophile child sex offender

A sexual predator who committed ‘disturbing crimes’ against a schoolgirl has been incarcerated. Paedophile Stewart Thomson exploited a young girl in the Oswestry region of Shropshire.

He was accountable for sexually assaulting her from April 2019 to February 2020. The 40-year-old has been sentenced to eight years in prison.

This follows the jury’s conviction of him on six charges of engaging in sexual behaviour with a minor under the age of 16. He also confessed to two charges of producing indecent images of a minor.

Detective Sergeant Alice Davies of the reactive CID at West Mercia Police stated, “We are very satisfied with the jury’s verdict and the sentence imposed on Thomson, which ensures he will now confront the repercussions of his heinous crimes against a vulnerable young girl.” We regard all manifestations of child abuse with utmost seriousness, and I trust this outcome reflects our commitment to ensuring the safety of children in our community from sexual predators.

“I trust it provides reassurance to victims that we will exert every effort to ensure offenders are held accountable.” Thomson, residing at Abbeygate Walk, Bangor-on-Dee, Wrexham, was sentenced at Shrewsbury Crown Court on Monday, March 13.

The perpetrator was registered as a sex offender and issued a sexual harm prevention order.
