A guy, Laurence Harvey Horsham Paedophile, who systematically transferred funds to individuals in the Philippines in exchange for explicit photos of children being tortured, raped and sexually abused has been incarcerated.
Laurence Harvey, a 65-year-old resident of Searles View in Horsham, made payments totalling £46,467 to several individuals associated with child sexual abuse between September 2, 2011, to August 9, 2021.
In May 2022, he was apprehended, and multiple devices were confiscated. These devices were discovered to contain explicit photographs and conversations with minors.
Laurence Harvey engaged in direct communication with the youngsters, requesting them to engage in sexual activities. Additionally, there was an incident where he transferred money to a woman in exchange for explicit photographs of a child she falsely claimed to be her daughter.
He asserted that the funds were sent either for philanthropic endeavours or to adults he had encountered on the internet in exchange for engaging in sexual activities online.
Laurence Harvey was then accused of orchestrating the conduct of a child sex offence, possessing an indecent photograph of a kid, creating two indecent photographs of a child, and arranging the sexual exploitation of a child under 13.
Laurence Harvey admitted his guilt for all the accusations. On 6 August, he received a prison sentence of 56 months and a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order that significantly limits his access to digital devices, the internet, and travel to the Philippines.
According to Detective Sergeant David Rose, Laurence Harvey is somebody who engages in online predatory behaviour, explicitly targeting young and vulnerable individuals to exploit them in the most reprehensible manner.
“The significant amounts of money he was prepared to expend over a decade indicate a dedicated wrongdoer who demonstrated no concern for the severe consequences of his offences on these vulnerable children and their families.”
“The investigation was intricate, but due to the diligent efforts of the Online Child Abuse Team, we have successfully apprehended a hazardous individual and incarcerated him, ensuring that he is unable to inflict any more harm on the public.”
