Jamie Short paedophile child molester - child sexual assault - Exeter

A Paedophile from Exeter, Jamie Short, has been incarcerated after being apprehended by paedophile hunters for transmitting sexual communications to decoy minors online. Jamie Short utilised Facebook and WhatsApp to harass individuals he believed to be 13 and 14 years old.

The 51-year-old, Jamie Short, transmitted repugnant images of himself and attempted to solicit photographs of the youngsters in exchange. He proposed engaging in sexual activity, impersonated a teenage lad, and even paid £300 to one child to observe him masturbate.

He was located and apprehended by law enforcement. Jamie Short, of Chestnut Avenue, Exeter, has received an 18-month prison sentence at Exeter Crown Court. The defendant, with a prior record of violent offences, is currently serving a sentence of four and a half years for robbery.

Prosecutor Herc Ashworth stated that the initial offence occurred in November 2019 when Jamie Short communicated with a decoy account of a 13-year-old managed by a paedophile hunter. He rapidly shifted the dialogue to a sexual nature and proposed a meeting when she visited Devon for vacation.

He subsequently asserted that he was a 14-year-old boy and transmitted explicit photographs of himself to the child. He attempted to contact her using WhatsApp.

In March of the previous year, he resumed contacting another account, while being on bail at that time. He asserted that he was 17 years old and transmitted additional explicit photographs of himself.

Mr. William Parkhill, in defence, stated that Jamie Short was experiencing an isolated and alone existence at that time. He suffers from a degenerative muscular ailment that impairs his ability to utilise his hands effectively.

The defendant admitted guilt to three charges of attempted sexual communication with a minor and two charges of attempting to induce a minor to observe a sexual conduct.

His 18-month sentence will be served consecutively to the robbery term he is now serving, resulting in a total of six years.

Jamie Short received a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and was mandated to register as a sex offender.
