Andrew Simon Wilson paedophile rapist sex offender - Essex music teacher

Essex Paedophile Andrew Simon Wilson used his reputation as a performer, music teacher, and organist and claims to have attended more than 1,000 weddings to groom children.

Andrew Simon Wilson, 57, went on trial for 19 sexual offences, 16 of which were crimes against three boys between the ages of nine and fourteen.

On his website, the paedophile Andrew Simon Wilson says he is “reliable, qualified and experienced”, but on February 15, 2019, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison at Lewes Crown Court.

Detectives have claimed he isolated, targeted, and groomed young boys using his background as an accomplished musician.

On February 12, following a 17-day trial, Andrew Simon Wilson of Norwood Way, Walton-on-the Naze, in Essex, was convicted guilty of several offences.

While he was a choirmaster and music teacher at St Mary’s Church, Beddington, some of his repulsive acts happened in South London.

Most of his wrongdoing happened in Warnham, West Sussex, close to Crawley.

His terrible actions stretched decades; some acts were carried out in the 1980s and others as late as 2011.

Andrew Simon Wilson’s heinous crimes

His crimes are as follows:

  • Two cases of indecent assault and two cases of gross indecency on a boy at locations in Warnham, West Sussex, in the mid-1980s
  • Eight cases of indecent assault and two cases of gross indecency on another boy at locations in Warnham in the mid-1980s
  • One case of sexual assault and one case of meeting a child for sexual activity, both relating to another boy between 2008 and 2011, at locations in South London and in Germany on choir tours
  • Three cases of making a total of 1,366 indecent images of children
  • The trial judge directed the jury to return a verdict of not guilty concerning one other case of alleged indecent assault on another boy in Warnham in the mid-1980s

Andrew Simon Wilson will be a registered sex offender for life.

He was also made subject to a SHPO.

In addition, the paedophile Andrew Simon Wilson was handed a 12-year prison term.

NSPCC reaction to music teacher’s sentence

An NSPCC spokesman said: “Andrew Simon Wilson’s actions were wicked and predatory, robbing his victims of their childhoods.

“Admitting his guilt would have spared them the trauma of reliving their abuse, but instead, they were forced to recount their experiences in court, paying a heavy emotional toll.

“Cases like this show that victims can achieve justice no matter how long the crime occurred.”
