After he, David Parker Royal Navy Paedophile, resorted to the same “disgusting” behaviour, a “deviant” who had already been imprisoned for intending to target young children for sexual abuse was branded as a “dangerous” criminal.
Former Royal Navy serviceman David Parker, a convicted sex offender at the time, began corresponding online to someone he mistakenly thought to be the enthusiastic and ready mother of a 10-year-old daughter but who was an undercover police officer.
He told the fictitious mother straight out that he wanted to have sex with her little daughter and that he would bring a soft penguin toy with him to keep the youngster “entertained” while he mistreated her.
Hull Crown Court also heard that he had been duped the last time by undercover police into believing he was speaking to a like-minded sexual predator, but he fell for the same trap once more.
Admitting nine counts, David Parker, 67 of Cherry Tree Lane, Beverley, admitted preparing or enabling the commission of a child sexual offence, distributing obscene photos of children and breaching a sexual harm prevention order.
Rachel Scott, the prosecutor, claimed that David Parker participated in internet chats with an undercover police officer posing as a woman with a 10-year-old daughter on February 21 this year.
David Parker sent the undercover cop sexual images of minors and promised to share embarrassing pictures of youngsters. He claimed he would love to see the daughter and engage in sex with her, as well as have photographs shot with the supposed daughter.
He emailed a video of a man having sex with a toddler. David Parker mentioned using a penguin sex toy and that he would “play penguins” with the girl to keep her “entertained”.
He said he would adore an eight-year-old daughter. “Your girl is an ideal age,” he advised the phoney mother. “He admitted that he was serious about having sex with a child, and it wasn’t just a fantasy,” Miss Scott claimed.
David Parker proposed closing the girl’s mouth with a gag. “She spoke on meeting with the officer and her daughter,” Miss Scott said.
“He talked of meeting the officer at a caravan he would pay for. The defendant decided to visit the girl’s house and spend the night over.”
David Parker stopped the messages at last. He was discovered and taken into custody right from his house. “Not again,” he said to the police during his detention. He turned over a phone that the authorities registered, but another phone was discovered buried beneath a sofa cushion during a search.
Miss Scott stated, “That gadget had not been registered with his sex offender manager.” Its erased past featured horrific pornography and obscene pictures of youngsters.
David Parker said he was “not stupid enough to meet them” even though he admitted during police questioning talking online about minors. Although he denied having a sexual addiction to youngsters, he acknowledged that in a fantasy world, he did.
David Parker has convictions for 24 past offences, including 15 months in 2008, for possessing and transmitting offensive photographs of children.
David Parker, then residing on Glebe Road, Brigg, was imprisoned for four years at Grimsby Crown Court for two crimes of arranging or enabling the commission of a child sexual offence and four charges of creating indecent photos of children in May 2019. He had an indefinite sexual harm prevention order issued upon him.
David Parker was caught in another covert police operation during those offences, mistakenly believing he was speaking to the stepfather of two children when he set up to meet at a motorway service station.
David Parker was violating that directive.
“This is a rather severe breach,” Miss Scott remarked.
Amber Hobson, mitigating, claimed Parker stopped the most recent online sexual communications. “He admits that his actions have been repulsive,” Miss Hobson remarked.
“He admits his actions are pretty unacceptable. What he did makes him embarrassed.
“He never formed the intent to meet the person he was chatting with, and that’s the reason the messages ceased, as he had decided the communication had reached a stage it should have stopped at. This was only a fantasy, he adds.
“He showed a good understanding of the damage and continuous harm resulting from disseminating that content. He was not intending to meet the youngster.” David Parker had spent more than 20 years in the Royal Navy.
Regarding the fictitious 10-year-old girl, Recorder Abdul Iqbal KC said, “Mercifully, she was a false person, but you were not to know that. You asked her what age she would be interested in having sex.
“You said you would trade in offensive photographs of minors. You sent several offensive pictures of young people. You show aberrant and illegal sexual attraction in young people. You mentioned you would bring sex toys with such a theme and a soft penguin.
“You described in incredible graphic detail how you would engage in that sexual behaviour with that child. You thought you were chatting to the mother of a ten-year-old child.
“If it would have been possible, you had every intention otherwise to further the offence. You have a great chance of causing major sexual damage in the future.”
Following his classification as a dangerous offender, David Parker—already under detention on remand—was imprisoned for six years and nine months. He will be on a three-year extended licence after his release from prison. He will have to register as an indefinite sex offender.
