A 75-year-old man, Nigel Stephen Collins Redcar Paedophile, has been sentenced to 32 months in prison after being charged with the creation of indecent photos of minors, following the discovery of roughly 850 images of the most severe category on his computer.

Nigel Stephen Collins’ actions were uncovered following an unannounced visit by officers from Cleveland Police’s Management of Sexual or Violent Offenders Unit (MOSOVO) to his residence in Redcar, to verify his compliance with court orders stemming from two prior convictions for producing child sexual abuse materials.

An examination of his computer revealed repeated access to child abuse photos, resulting in his arrest, subsequent interview, and charges filed, leading to his remand until his court appearance on Friday, January 24th.

Officer in the Case, PC James Sexton of the MOSOVO Unit, stated: “Nigel Stephen Collins remains a perilous individual with a persistent inclination towards the creation or acquisition of child abuse images.”

“We diligently monitor all individuals under restrictions and conditions to promptly identify and address any violations.”

“I wish to express my gratitude to my colleagues in the Digital Forensic Unit for their prompt work on this case; their support facilitated the return of a high-risk offender to prison.”
