The trial of a 63-year-old paedophile, David Pratchett, accused of sexually assaulting a schoolboy will not take place until September 2026 because of the backlog of cases in the criminal justice system.
Before Ipswich Crown Court on Tuesday for a plea and trial preparation hearing was David Pratchett of Alan Way, Colchester.
David Pratchett pleaded not guilty to four offences of sexual activity with a child between 2015 and 2020.
David Pratchett’s trial will take place on September 7, 2026.
A pre-trial review will be held on September 2, 2026.
