Sexual predator Paul Dutton pleaded for absolution after his victim stated, “You pose a threat to society and warrant incarceration.”
A 61-year-old man, Paul Dutton, sexually assaulted a teenage boy, resulting in the fragile child becoming “a broken person” plagued by anxiety and sadness.
He lowered his head in shame when confronted by the courageous victim in court, seated alongside his distraught mother in the section often designated for a jury.
Following an emotional display during the boy’s poignant victim statement, the perpetrator audaciously expressed his “apologies” when he was sentenced.
Paul Dutton, residing on Cotswold Grove in St Helens, established a friendship with the youngster by providing counsel and assistance, then molesting him.
He confessed to three charges of engaging in sexual conduct in the presence of a child, two charges of inducing a minor to participate in sexual activity, and three charges of sexual activity with a child.
Paul Dutton received a three-year prison sentence.
